If your temperature control is off, you get internal stress in the glass, and that’s a disaster. We spend the time figuring out the right wattage and voltage to hit your target heat density. Now, here’s the catch: if we push more wattage into a shorter tube, you get a massive burst of radiant flux, but it puts a lot of pressure on the quartz envelope. You also have to make sure your power supplies can handle that initial startup surge. Nobody wants to spend their morning replacing blown fuses because of a cold start. The nitty-gritty on materials We use high-purity quartz glass because it can take the constant heating and cooling without cracking. Depending on how your lehr is set up, you might need short-wave or medium-wave emitters. Short-wave lamps are great when you need the heat to soak deep into the glass mass. Medium-wave is your go-to for surface heating. To make your life easier, we use standard R7s or SK15 connectors. You just plug them in. No need to rewire the entire heating bank or spend hours tinkering with the sockets. The trade-offs you should know about High-output lamps are great for keeping your throughput fast, but they run hot. If you decide to crank up the wattage beyond the original OEM specs to speed things up, just keep an eye on your cooling fans and housing. They’re going to take a beating. If the lamp ends overheat, your leads won’t last nearly as long.
